Only when you look back, you can see how far you have come already. The history of IFE SYSTEMS
can be traced back to the “Institut für Energetik“(IfE), which was founded in 1953. It was then a
scientific and technological centre of the energy industry of the former GDR.
The institute gained worldwide reputation by using computer technology for energy supply at an
early stage. For instance a simulator for power load distribution within the power system was
developed in Leipzig as well as the first real-time PC-based nuclear power plant simulator in the
world, which was built and operated for NPP Greifswald.

| 2002 | Reorganisation of IfE Leipzig GmbH into a Holding and formation of two subsidiaries IfE-Automatisierung GmbH und IfE-Analytik GmbH. Reorganisation of the group gives to the associate companies the opportunity to concentrate on the respective key competences and thus leads to significantly increased representation on the market as well as closer contact to the customer. |
| 1993 | Privatisation of the IfE Leipzig GmbH trust company by incorporating an association, which acts now as partner to the company group, furthermore the formation of the non-profit organisation "Institute für Energetik und Umwelt".
